TERMS & CONDITIONS
Rules of the Race
Race events are organised and administered by Tamworth 10K, whose registered office is at KP Events, 3 Tudor Row, Bore Street, Lichfield, Staffordshire, WS13 6HH. (“we” or “us” includes our employees, event officials, authorised agents, sub-contractors, or volunteers).
Travelling to an Event
By signing up to participate in our events, you accept full responsibility for any injury or accident that may occur while travelling to or from the event, during the event, or while on the event premises, unless the injury or accident is caused by our negligence.
Personal Health and Fitness
You understand that participating in our events is potentially hazardous, and you should not enter unless you are medically able and properly trained.
We recommend consulting your doctor before training for any distance event if it is new to you. It is your responsibility to ensure you are medically fit and capable of running any of our race events.
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to stop any runner from participating if we deem them unfit, including mid-race removal from the course if necessary.
Medical Treatment While Attending the Race Event
By entering our event, you confirm that you require medical treatment during your attendance—whether before, during, or after the actual run—it may be administered by the event’s official medically qualified personnel.
Entry Transfer
Under no circumstances should you transfer your race number to another participant. Doing so can cause issues with identification for medical services in case of an accident or injury. Any attempt to transfer race numbers will result in disqualification and removal from the event.
If you wish to transfer your race number to another runner, please contact Paul at paul@tamworth10k.com or by phone at 07947698147.
Animals
Animals will not be permitted on the race course. We are unable to allow guide dogs on the course, but we can offer a free place to guide runners.
Racing Wheelchairs, Bikes, Stilts, Roller Skates, Skateboards, Buggies, etc.
Participants are not permitted to use any of the above or similar in any of our events. Those attempting to do so may be prohibited from starting or forcibly removed from the course mid-race if necessary. Similarly, anyone attempting to start the race in any outfit deemed unsuitable or dangerous to other competitors or spectators will be disqualified.
Self-propelled racing wheelchairs will not be allowed for health and safety reasons. However, standard wheelchairs may be used if another participant is pushing the chair throughout the race, subject to the race organiser’s discretion.
Cancellation and Alterations of the Event
If the event is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including, but not limited to, natural disasters, war, terrorist threats, sabotage, epidemics, or the death of a major public figure), participants will not be entitled to a refund of entry fees or compensation for additional losses, such as travel or accommodation expenses.
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to cancel, delay, or postpone the event due to unforeseen circumstances outside of our control (e.g., adverse weather conditions or emergency services instructions). We will make every effort to inform participants as soon as possible.
Finisher Pack
Only those who complete the race will be entitled to a Finisher’s Medal and/or other Finisher’s giveaways, including a goodie bag. Please do not request more than one; marshals have been instructed to only issue one per person to ensure that all finishers receive their items.
Use of Images
By participating in the event, you grant full and irrevocable permission to Tamworth 10K, as organisers, and any third parties authorised by us, to use any photographs, video footage, motion pictures, website images, recordings, or other media that may include your image.
Collection and Use of Information
Your personal information will only be used by us and any appointed third parties for purposes related to the event and any subsequent events we may organise. By entering the event, you also grant permission for us to share any medical details you’ve provided with the medical teams on race day.
Race Numbers
Please complete any relevant medical details on the back of your race number if you have any medical conditions or are taking any medication. Under no circumstances are you permitted to sell or transfer your race number. Any attempt to do so will result in your entry being cancelled.
Music While Running
For health and safety reasons, participants must not use personal music devices during the event. This is crucial to allow emergency services and their vehicles to operate safely, as participants need to remain aware of their surroundings. iPods, MP3 players, or similar devices must not be worn. You will be held solely liable if your use of a music device leads to harm to yourself or others, or damage to property.
Race Ejection
We reserve the right, at our discretion, to refuse participation at any point during the event if your behavior is deemed inappropriate or if there is concern for your safety or the safety of others. This includes the wearing of clothing or visual messages that may cause offence. Failure to comply with instructions from race officials may result in disqualification from the race and further action.
Change of Postal Address, Email Address, or Phone Numbers
If your contact details change, please inform us as soon as possible by emailing paul@tamworth10k.com. Failure to do so may result in missed race communications.
